Phoenix 3000
Re-Sizing Agent, NSF Certified

Data Sheet
Phoenix 3000 can be used to recover the performance of partially oxidized or pH hydrolyzed polyamide membranes. It forms a coating on the surface of the membrane, improving salt rejection characteristics. Because it’s applied on line, there is no interruption in plant productivity.
Phoenix 3000 is compatible with all polyamide reverse osmosis membranes and the formulation is certified by NSF International under NSF/ANSI Standard 60 for use in systems producing potable water.
Performance:
Phoenix 3000 offers several performance properties that make it the product of choice for resizing polyamide membranes:
- The product is applied on-line, so there is no interruption in plant productivity.
- Salt passage can be reduced by up to 50%.
- Application time is typically 20 to 30 minutes.
- Salt passage reduction is dependent on the type and degree of existing membrane damage.
- Recurrent applications allow continued membrane performance.
- Best results are achieved when the membrane system has been thoroughly cleaned, eliminating interference from foulants on the membrane surface.
General Instructions for Use:
The product is typically applied at 300 ppm (of 30% by weight solution) for 20 to 30 minutes. If possible, thoroughly clean the RO system prior to using Phoenix. This will allow the chemical to come into full contact with the membrane surface.
Reapplication may be necessary following a chemical cleaning of the system, or sooner, depending on the quality of the system feed water.
Detailed mixing instructions are available upon request.
Preparation:
The product is supplied as a powder and should be diluted into an emulsion of 1% to 30% weight solution, depending on the available dosing equipment. Dilute the product with chlorine free RO permeate quality water. Mixed solutions should not be stored for more than 72 hours before use.
