Corrosion Inhibitor

click for PDF
ViCoat 2000 is a liquid threshold corrosion inhibitor product based on inorganic pyrophosphate for inhibition of corrosion and "red water" problems in potable water distribution systems. The product deposits a neutral phosphate layer on the internal surfaces of the piping systems, which prevents corrosion and also stabilises the development of hardness and iron salts.
Performance:
ViCoat 2000 provides unique performance and application benefits:
- Liquid product for ease of application.
- Effective corrosion inhibitor.
- Calcium Carbonate stabiliser for scale control.
- Stabilises Iron and Manganese salts.
- Product classified as nonhazardous for shipping.
- All ingredients are food/potable grade and comply with Drinking Water Inspectorate and are FDA listed.
Instructions for Use:
Establishing the most efficient dose rate is dependent on a number of factors, including water quality, system condition and operation. Dose rates may vary from system to system dependent for example on the surface area of the distribution network.
ViCoat 2000 is normally dosed in the 2-25ppm range to maintain 1-10 mg/l of phosphate in the distribution system water. In certain waters, softened, distilled or naturally soft, it may be necessary to add a small amount of Calcium to achieve satisfactory corrosion protection.
For accurate dosing recommendation contact your Avista representative.
Dosing:
ViCoat 2000 should be added in the neat form continuously by means of a metering pump controlled proportionally to flow The pump should be set to give small doses at high frequency.
