click for PDF
ViCoat 3000 is a liquid threshold corrosion inhibitor product based on sodium silicate for inhibition of corrosion and "red water" problems in potable water distribution systems. The product deposits a silica layer on the internal surfaces of the piping systems, which prevents corrosion.
Performance:
ViCoat 3000 provides unique performance and application benefits:
- Liquid product for ease of application.
- Effective corrosion inhibitor.
- Calcium Carbonate stabiliser for scale control.
- Stabilises Iron and Manganese salts.
- Product classified as nonhazardous for shipping.
- All ingredients are food/potable grade and comply with Drinking Water Inspectorate and are FDA listed.
Instructions for Use:
Dose rates may vary from system to system dependent for example on the surface area of the distribution network.
System passivation is required by the application of 40mg/l for up to 2 months in order to deposit a protective film.
This will be followed by a routine treatment of 18mg/l to maintain 5mg/l SiO2 in the distribution system water.
Dosing:
ViCoat 3000 should be added continuously by means of a metering pump. It may be applied in the neat form or diluted with potable quality water or RO permeate.
