Avista personnel introduced several new specialty chemicals to conference attendees at IDA Perth. New formulations included SafeGuard 100, a NSF certified liquid product used for short and long-term membrane storage and AntiChlor® 427, a liquid sodium bisulfite solution used to remove free and combined chlorine from reverse osmosis and ultrafiltration system feed waters.
Avista also introduced Chemiplas Pty Ltd. as their regional distributor in Australia and New Zealand. Chemiplas will provide local supply of the Avista SafeGuard, Vitec® antiscalants, RoClean and AvistaClean® RO and MF/UF membrane cleaners, RoCide® biocides, and RoQuest® coagulants. They will also offer regional technical assistance supported by the Avista laboratories in California and Edinburgh where membrane autopsies, cleaning and filtration studies, chemical dosing, foulant analysis and a variety of other support services are performed.
