SAN MARCOS, CA – February 24, 2015 – Avista® Technologies, a global expert in membrane system chemistry and water treatment process support, announces initiatives for continued expansion in 2015.
“As the world’s population and demand for quality water grows, water and wastewater treatment systems using membrane technologies continue to be a significant trend around the world. Our responsibility at Avista is to lead the application of innovative solutions that help to make quality water more accessible,” explains Dave Walker, Avista President and CEO.
Avista Technologies will continue its focus on global expansion, research and development, including:
STRATEGIC CHANGES IN CHILE – NEWLY APPOINTED DISTRIBUTOR, NICOLAIDES / FLUID SYSTEMS
The mining sector is a pillar of the Chilean economy and a significant end use of water and wastewater treatment resources. With a strong focus on growth in South America and the mining sector, Avista made a strategic change in their Chilean distribution for 2015, partnering with Nicolaides/Fluid Systems. “By combining our expertise with their warehousing capabilities in Antofagasta and Santiago, we are extremely well positioned immediately support the needs of customers throughout the region,” explains Mario Trevino, Avista Regional Sales Manager.
ASIA EXPANSION – INTRODUCING AVISTA TECHNOLOGIES SINGAPORE, PTE LTD
Led by Kent Goh, newly appointed Director of Sales in Asia, Avista Technologies Singapore will provide the local presence required to expand in one of the industry’s fastest growing markets. With an established distributor network in APAC, Kent will manage sales strategy and drive product and service requirements for future expansion. “The addition of a Singapore entity allows us to meet the needs of our customers through a focused distribution network with an expanding product line,” states Doug Eisberg, Avista Technologies Director of Business Development.
CLOSING THE ANTISCALANT GAP
Antiscalant chemicals make up over 50% of the global reverse osmosis chemical market, keeping operations running at peak performance. Using over sixteen years of data collected from field and lab research, Avista has led the development of custom, multi-component antiscalants under the Vitec® trade name. Dan Comstock, Vice President of R&D, explains that “to serve the global market better, we launched four new products in January for large capacity municipal, potable, and wastewater systems. These products offer optimum performance while remaining economically competitive and will be a key element in satisfying a broader range of global customers.”
