An Innovation in System Troubleshooting & Optimization
The Avista Black Box is a stand-alone monitoring device for spiral wound membrane systems. This on-site tool replicates membrane performance without interrupting the operation of the full-scale system. The Black Box is configured with the identical membrane used in the full system. The unit simulates the performance of the membrane closest to the sampling location at a recovery rate as low as 0.5%, unlike other monitoring techniques, which boost recovery rates by 10%. The Black Box is then returned for autopsy and a diagnosis of membrane performance.
The Black Box is self-contained and designed to be maintenance-free. The inlet is connected to a sample port on the membrane system at the location where membrane performance will be monitored. The concentrate and permeate lines are connected to the system drain.
Easy To Use
The Black Box can be installed in minutes, and additional units can be added to achieve multiple goals simultaneously. Differential pressure is monitored by an internal gauge in the Black Box.
